Stained Glass Windows
Well, here i am.. always a few years behind everybody in terms of technology. My parents still bug me over the fact that i took IT in form 5. yeah, so wat if i can’t find the USB port on my home PC… at least i can press the button that has that circle with the funny stroke and know that it turns the computer on. see!… i’m not that ulu. anywayyy…. the point of this blog is not rennounce or rebut my computer illiteracy
- it is to paint a picture of my life here in Russia to all those who want to know (so i won’t get asked too many of the same questions every summer.. hehe) and also to give a glimpse through my stained glass window aka my view of life to, again, those who are interested. hehe.. so much for my opening speech.
Well, let’s see. Right now, i’m listening to Micheal W. Smith by request of my beloved room mate. Of late, the main issue in my life is with regards to a certain election held by the christian fellowship in the 1st and 3rd hostels. To those who do not know, the 1st and 3rd hostels can be declared as the only 2 buildings in the whole of Nizhny Novgorod that accomodate Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy students. Anyway, the christian fellowship was established to encourage each other in Christ (and trust me, encouragement from other christians is a vital ingredient in surviving the turmoils of life here in Russia) and also to shine for Christ amongst the non-christians we are constantly in contact with. Ok ok, the election. This semester i proposed the idea of having a President and Vice President of our CF. This is mainly because i found myself doing a lot more work than that that was allocated to me when i was appointed a worship coordinator in the CF. The appointment of a President and Vice President was to solely to "fill in the blanks" in hopes that the CF will run more smoothly. However there were many questions raised as in to how this President should be chosen and to what criteria. There were also questions on whether is was absolutely necessary to have a President as it might throw the CF into a state of division and then the word "hierarchy" came up. Things accelerated and before i knew it was happening, a President and Vice President was chosen by vote and suddenly we were faced with the issue of a re-election as some ppl were allegedly unhappy with the way it was done. I began to wonder whether it was worth electing a President because instead of having the CF up and running, more doubt and chaos resulted in it. However, things are a bit more settled. I think it was the right thing to do. I just pray that things will run smoothly as I really want it to and as is expected from a fellowship whose self-proclaimed core is LOVE.

I think it’s a good idea to elect a Prez and a Vice-Prez. Will continue to pray with you for a smooth leadership and later, for a smooth transition of leadership.
Don’t worry too much about it. GOD is in control over everything

Yea.. as quoted from Purpose Driven Life, a CF should be based solely on LOVE for the intergrity of any fellowship.Love casts away all fear and doubt, therefore we should learn to trust, accept and love each other more as brothers and sisters in Christ. What’s more important is that we should all be able to give ourselves to God… surrender to Him fully to be used for His purposes, not fret over the positions we ahould be holding. We only have one mission- to rejoice in praising the Lord and keep our hearts burning with the desire to worship Him. But ppl seem to have the wrong misconception about power and position in CF. That’s jz saddening. Guess that’s what happening when we stray away too far from God. Anyway, I’m sure things will work out if we continue to pray about it.. We should rely more on God instead of our own strength, right? God will definitely provide. We do have strong leaders like you and Vino in our team no? PTL!
